Management Trainee
I always get asked how or why I got into this field. The Electrical Construction field is not a typical career path for a Civil Engineer; however, I enjoy (almost) every single day of it. I started with CarolinaPower as an intern while finishing up my undergrad at Clemson and I have since found a home in this profession with this company. I love what I do because of the people that I get to work with. I have been fully supported through getting my MBA and throughout the Management Trainee Program that I am currently in. The culture of MetroPower as a whole is exactly the type of company I wanted to build a career with, which is rare to find on your first shot.
I always say that an engineering degree doesn’t teach you much that you will actually use, but it does test your ability to learn and I learn something new every day. From being immersed in the electrical field, which I had no prior experience in, to learning operational functions, CarolinaPower has taught me so much that has made me into a well-rounded professional. If I express interest in learning something new, our team is quick to help me gain more knowledge and push me to learn more than I thought I would.
