It’s just what I got into and one thing led to another and it worked out great, better than anyone could ever imagine. As long as the company’s still here, I don’t have any reason to go look for anything else. I mean, this is perfect.
The trades are a good way to go for kids that are coming out of high school that don’t know exactly what they want to do. I think a lot of people just go to college cause they don’t have anything else to do. But if you get into the trades and you start young, the sky’s the limit.
I’ve been at this basically since I was 18. I don’t have any of the school loans to worry about, so I am pretty fortunate. I feel like I’m that much farther along than my buddies from school. A lot of guys are just getting out of college now. And the guys I went to high school with, they’re just finishing up and trying to find work. I think a lot of people would be envious, especially at my age, if they were to be able to come in here and feel like they’re a major piece of something.
I look forward to coming to work every day. It’s not too hard to get out of bed. And if you do well, it pays well. Money’s important to everybody. It’s not the most important thing, but that’s what lets you have the things you want.
I think I’m a pretty lucky guy. I mean, I bought a house at 22. I probably feel older than I am half the time, but that’s all right. Then I can retire earlier. Since as far as I know you only live once, I just try to make the most of it. Just try to live it to the fullest. You never know how long you’ll be here. Enjoy — I try to spend as much time as I can with my family and just have a good time. That’s what it’s all about.
